The brief
A boutique gift store, with an AI-powered engine underneath
Love in a Box is a Brisbane-based boutique gift box business run by a small, passionate team. They came to us with a clear brief: build a beautiful, fully custom e-commerce store that matched their warm brand, and while we were at it, solve a real operational problem.
Managing products, suppliers, costs and content manually was eating hours every week. The brief wasn't just a pretty website. It was a platform, one that could run smarter with AI baked in from the start.

The approach
A custom store and three AI tools, built as one platform
This wasn't a template drop with a chatbot bolted on. Every part of the build, from the storefront to the admin panel, was designed around how Love in a Box actually works.

- 01
AI Product Content Generation
When a new gift box is added to the store, AI generates names, descriptions and icons for every item inside, based on a few starting details. What used to take 30 minutes now takes seconds.
- 02
AI Product Data Extraction
Paste a supplier URL into the admin panel and AI scrapes and structures every relevant field, name, SKU, price, weight, bulk pricing, per-unit cost. Hours of manual entry replaced with a single click.
- 03
AI Supplier Intelligence
Onboarding a new supplier used to take 15 minutes of research. Now it's under 60 seconds. AI reads the supplier's website and pre-fills contact details, shipping policies, type, and region automatically.
- 04
Human always in control
AI fills and suggests, humans review, lock and approve. Every output is editable before going live. The system is designed to speed up the team, not replace their judgement.
The timeline
From brief to live store, with AI running underneath
Discovery and Architecture
Mapped the full product catalogue, gift box configuration flows, supplier relationships, and admin workflows. Chose Next.js 16 + SQLite for a single deployable unit with no external infrastructure.
Storefront and E-Commerce
Built the gift box catalogue, product detail pages, cart, and Stripe checkout. Mobile-first design to match the warm, boutique brand aesthetic Sarah had envisioned.
Custom AI Admin Layer
Built three AI-powered tools directly into the admin panel: AI Product Content Generation, AI Product Data Extraction from supplier URLs, and AI Supplier Intelligence for one-click onboarding.
Polish, QA and Launch
Final SEO pass, image optimisation, email notifications via EmailJS, and full QA across devices. The store launched fully operational, accepting orders and running AI-assisted workflows from day one.
The stack
Pragmatic choices, production results
App Router with React Server Components for fast, SEO-ready page loads, critical for a product catalogue that needs to rank locally in Brisbane.
The new React compiler automatically memoises the storefront UI, delivering a smooth, instant-feeling browsing experience on any device.
PCI-compliant checkout with Apple Pay and Google Pay support, secure, familiar, and fully managed so the team never touches raw payment data.
A single-file embedded database powers the entire product catalogue, order history, and admin data, zero infrastructure, zero cold starts.
Powers three purpose-built AI admin tools: product content generation, supplier data extraction, and supplier intelligence, all trained on real business workflows.
Transactional order confirmations and admin notifications delivered without a backend mail server, fast setup, reliable delivery.
From first conversation to a live, fully functional e-commerce store — Breeze delivered at a pace we didn't think was possible. They got our vision, handled everything end-to-end, and built us a platform we can actually grow with.
The result
Love in a Box launched with a beautiful, brand-true storefront and three AI-powered admin tools running underneath. The team went from hours of manual product and supplier work each week to a streamlined, AI-assisted workflow, with full control at every step. Built to scale as the product range and supplier network grows.
