Case study · Brand, web app, films and games
Love in a Book sells personalised bedtime storybooks. Pick a name, an adventure and a sidekick, and a 15-page illustrated book starring your child is made and emailed in minutes. We made the whole thing: the brand, every sticker, the site, the book engine, six films and five free games.
Watch the filmsSix short films for Reels and TikTok, built from the same painted scenes and stickers as the books. Pick one and it plays in the phone.
tap the screen to pause
A parent fills in a two-minute form and gets a fully illustrated bedtime story back. The site had to make that feel magical, and make the product obvious in the first scroll.

Girl or boy, any first name and their age. The cover redraws as they type.

Six animal friends and five stories, from the Sleepy Stars to a Christmas Wish.

A 15-page illustrated PDF, ready to print or read on a tablet.
This is the real preview from the shop, with the same art the books are made from. Change anything and the 3D cover redraws.
Five real books, straight out of the book engine: five children, five sidekicks, fifteen pages each. Pick a cover, then click, swipe or use the arrow keys.
The home page is a guided tour. Each chapter swaps in its own sky, child and sidekick as you scroll, with little effects to match: waking stars, bubbles, confetti and snow. No template and no page builder.
hover or scroll inside each one to move through it
Every character is a die-cut sticker, posed once and reused across scenes. That is how one story can star any child and any sidekick. Have a go: build a page the way the engine does.
Sticker sheet
Double-click a sticker on the page to peel it off.
One game for every adventure, with no app and no sign-up. Kids type their name, pick their sidekick and play. When the game ends, one tap turns it into their storybook. They are a free way in for parents, and great for sharing.
Tap each sleepy star to wake it. Winking stars are worth three, but don’t disturb the owl.
Pop bubbles to find fish, seahorses and shiny pearls. Golden pearls are worth five. Watch out for the jellyfish.
Bounce across the moon in low gravity. Grab the stars, catch a shooting star and hop the moon rocks.
Flip the party cards and find all six pairs in as few tries as you can. Perfect for little ones.
Santa’s sleigh is dropping presents. Slide to catch them and dodge the snowballs.
A kawaii look built to feel like opening a sticker book at bedtime: pastels on warm milk, plum lines holding everything together, and soft periwinkle skies instead of dark pages. Click a colour to copy it.

Components
Most parents buy on their phone, at bedtime. Every chapter, card and form stacks into a one-thumb layout, right through to checkout.

Under the covers · The book engine
Five stories, written so they work for any child and any sidekick. A page plan for each book places the background, the text and every sticker. The engine lays out all 15 pages with the child’s art, then a headless browser photographs each page and stitches them into a print-ready PDF.
Name, sidekick, adventure and who to send it to, saved as a pending order.
Stripe Checkout. A signed webhook marks it paid, exactly once.
Each book joins a Postgres queue, with 3 retries and an alert if one fails.
15 pages drawn and saved as a PDF in about 4 seconds.
A private download link, emailed to them, with a copy to the buyer.
Their name, adventure and sidekick, redrawn as they type.
Books go straight to the grandkids, with a copy to you.
5 adventures, girl or boy, and 6 sidekicks, every page checked.
Downloads only through their link. A refund switches it off.
